If you haven’t yet made it to the Whitney Museum in New York City for “Andy Warhol–From A to B and Back Again,” there’s still two weeks before it closes Match 31st.
Warhol was one the most important and influential artists of our time, who flexed his creative muscles across so many mediums and genres that he seems to have created his own art category. Credited with popularizing the term “Superstar” and the desire to be one, Warhol left an indelible mark on 20th Century American culture.
The show includes everything from his early work as a commercial illustrator, his iconic 60’s pop art and silk screens as well as his quirky collections in time capsule boxes and later more abstract work.
According to the museum’s website, this is the first retrospective show on Warhol since 1989 and the “largest monographic exhibition to date at the Whitney’s new location with more than 350 works of art, many assembled together for the first time.”
It’s impossible to touch on the scope of his life, his work and this exhibition here, but suffice it to say that this is a once in a lifetime experience for anyone seeking creative inspiration. So get yourself to the Whitney because time is running out. Trust us, you don’t want to wait another 30 years to catch this show!
