The Makeup Show NYC, our hometown show, is one of the highlights of the year for the Kett Krew. The show is the largest pro focused beauty event in the US where artists of all levels from around the world join together for two action packed days in May chock full of demonstrations, discussions, education, inspiration and kit stocking of Indie and Pro brands!
We always look forward to catching up with our family of makeup artists and enjoy welcoming new artists to our growing community.
Kett Cosmetics occupied prime real estate at the show anchoring a triple booth with Muse Beauty Pro. The newest addition to the line, Color Theory Fixx Crème drew much attention and the large space allowed artists to snap up many of their favorite brands in one location.
On Sunday May 5th, Sheila McKenna created a Cinco de May meets Dia de los Muertos inspired look on Lily using the New Color Theory Fixx Crème in white, red and black along with airbrushing Kett Hydro Proof Color Theory in Black and White. The fine lines where hand painted using Hydro Proof.
Sheila used genuine roses to fashion the striking headpiece and airbrushed the petals with Hydro Proof black to pull the life from them in order to compliment the look.
Skin prep: Nurturing Force Blot Out Offensive
Eyes: Lemonhead in Spacepaste “Gunshow” over Color Theory Fixx Crème
The second look designed by Sheila was a Punk Rock inspired “Club Kid” for TMSNYC fashion show.
Executed by Sheila and Joanne Parks, this look required 4 layers of smudge proof, budge proof Hydro Proof Color Theory in Red, White, Blue and Black.
The hyper-realistic tears in Max’s iconic Sex Pistols t-shirt were created using airbrushed stencils combined with hand painted detailing.
Face: Alsphonse Weilbelt using Kett, Viseaart and Lemonhead
